- GATE. is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
- GATE is one type of India levels competitive exam for admission to the degree to master degree.
- GATE exam is conducted by IITs and IISc.
- Normally GATE exam is taken on second Sunday of every year.
- GATE exam has its own examination pattern which is of objective type exam.
- GATE exam is generally taken in following the main discipline of engineering and science.
- Result GATE exam is declared normally on 15th March every year.

Eligibility criteria for GATE 2014 exam
- Minimum Bachelor or Graduation in any of Engineering/Science discipline.
- Minimum Master or Post graduation in a branch of Science/Mathematics/Computer Applications/Statistics/ or equivalent.
- Candidate with second or higher year of Four-year Integrated Post-graduation programme in engineering/technology can also apply.
- Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year Integrated Post-graduation programme or Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
- Candidates with qualifications of B.E./B.Tech from AMIE or equivalent which is approved by AICTE of India.
